Hello, photo questions
It's Ganesh's birthday and I have to go see people celebrate him. I'm sorry for the unexplained photos. I've been having bad luck uploading photos here but flickr.com is working so I am starting an album there. Also my photos get a little better as it goes on (especially as I stop taking photos indoors without a tripod). I'll try to finish in Chennai where I'm going tomorrow, since after that I go south to the tsunami-hit village Nagapattinam (Nagai) and don't expect good access there. I also, yes, will actually say what these photos are.
The Andamans is out; there were huge problems with the project we were considering there and I nixed it. I'm going to Nagai to talk with people there about what project would benefit the kids most; apparently you can organize things on very short notice, which is good because we lost over 2 weeks pondering the Andamans. There's an artist I'm meeting in Chennai who has led a one-week workshop with 9 other artists for 60 tsunami-surviving kids; he said it went really well and we're considering doing something like that; but I also just want to work directly with the kids. I have to hold on to that vision because there are a lot of other ways the money people so generously donated for the project could be spent and a lot of interesting ideas people have about how it could be. More soon. I want to write about the Indian coverage of the tsunami. Hope you're well...
